Cranial Tech #4

Just so you know, these pictures are in no way indicative of the past few days here at the McWilliams' house. But, I figured a picture of Owen and us in our sleep deprived state and pulling at our ears (well that's just Owen) would just be a downer. On a positive note we did go back to Cranial Tech today and Owen had some growth so they adjusted the helmet. We were shocked since he has really only been wearing it for three solid days. It is amazing to see the progress already! The reason for the exhaustion is that Owen has been sleeping just awful at night. He used to sleep through the night. Ever since the surgery, he has not slept through the night and is waking up several times. And I mean several. I talked to our doc and they encouraged us that we were doing the right things and just need to comfort Owen as much as we can. They explained that his little body is still just so off from being in the hospital and having major surgery. He said that it is too early to let him cry it out or take away his pacifier. In one sense, we were encouraged that we are not just being softies as parents. In another sense, it may be quite a few more weeks until Owen is sleeping good at night again and it has just been really tiring. Oh and the other thing is that he has another ear infection. We are on our third antibiotic so hopefully it will knock it out soon. I just feel so bad for our little one. He can't catch a break!
