Our poor sweet boy had surgery last Wednesday to unblock his left tear duct. It was a relatively minor surgery, but he still had to be put under for it. He did great overall. We woke him up at 5:30am, his surgery started at 7:30am and he was back in my arms by 8:00am. He had a hard time coming off the anesthesia, but we were warned that might be the case. Kenny took these two pictures before and after with his phone. It was pretty amazing that we were home and the whole thing was over by about 9:30am!
Hopefully, this procedure will be effective. There is a small chance that he will have to get a tube put in if it doesn't clear up. Another concern is that his eyelid doesn't completely shut sometimes when he is sleeping. We are going to start putting lubrication on it at night to help keep his eye moist and will go back in June for a follow-up appointment. Please pray that the drainage in his eye clears up and that he has no further issues!
